UUASC - United University of Arizona Sustainability Council
A presidential advisory committee and coordinating council, UUASC has been commissioned by President Robbins to steer efforts related to the student experience surrounding environmental sustainability at UA, as well as to advance campus infrastructure priorities to reduce our collective impact on the environment.
UUASC will have student, faculty, and staff representation across a range of university functions. To adequately address both the UA student experience and campus infrastructure, there will need to be broad representation from academic departments, centers and institutes, student services and auxiliaries, and campus infrastructure management. In addition, UUASC will need expertise relevant to student engagement; academic program facilitation; and energy, water, waste, transportation, and food management.
We are currently recruiting passionate students, faculty and staff to serve as members on the council. If you are interested in serving or learning more, please contact Ben Champion (email@example.com) in the UA Office of Sustainability.
Members will be asked to join a subcommittee, regularly attend and support subcommittee work as needed, as well as attend meetings of the full council in support of the work of your subcommittee. Every effort will be made to keep demands on your time minimal, however making substantial contributions to UA's overall sustainability efforts will require some investment of time and talent. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated and recognized.
Thanks for all you do to contribute to a Sustainable UA!
