Kendall Sternberg (He/Him/His)

Sustainability Communications Coordinator

Kendall is the Sustainability Communications Coordinator for the Office of Sustainability, and joined the team in March 2022. He is excited to take on this role and help share the innovations in sustainability that the Office is facilitating across the University’s campus and beyond.

Kendall grew up in a small town in Northern California, where he spent his free time outdoors in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Camping, hiking, and days spent in canoes kindled his appreciation for the environment at an early age, and instilled in him a lovely fear of poison oak and bears.

An interest in Videography led to his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Sonoma State University in 2005, where he worked on independent film projects and documentaries after graduating.

In 2006, Kendall moved to Shanghai, China. While living overseas, he taught English at local universities and high schools before becoming a part of the Marketing and Communications team at Shanghai American School. During his time at Shanghai American School, Kendall produced brand and instructional videos for the School’s communication channels, helped to develop and launch the School’s live-streaming program, SAS TV, and mentored an average of 30 students per semester who were interested in videography and live-streaming.

After thirteen years in China, Kendall returned to the United States with his family, and he is happy to call the city of Tucson home. Kendall is still afraid of poison oak and bears.
