Izzy Young (She/They)

Izzy worked for the Compost Cats from Summer 2021 to May 2023 as a Compost Systems Specialist, and later as an Education Team Lead. They graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Arts and Visual Culture Education, with an emphasis in 3D Arts and K-12 teaching, and she will also receive her teaching certificate soon. Izzy worked to beautify our demonstration sites across town, revamp our education program, and make sure the Compost Cats plots in the UArizona Community Garden were producing food we could donate to Campus Pantry. We are grateful to have had Izzy on our team for the past two years and we will miss her smiles and the joy she brought to her work! Izzy enjoys traveling, cooking and eating good food, art and craft making, being in nature and on farms, and spending time with good company. After graduation, Izzy is taking to the open road with her partner to explore the North American continent with their pup Artie. She will be selling her art and educational resources while working at various farms and art apprenticeships.
