This initiative proposes to integrate a set of mandatory sustainability criteria into the guidelines or bylaws of key campus activities, including Fraternity & Sorority Programs, clubs, cultural and resource centers, club sports, and summer camps. The initiative outlines expectations to regularly review and update these guidelines, provide educational support to organizations, encourage collaboration, and consider recognition or incentives for outstanding sustainability efforts. Actionable items include:
- Incorporate sustainability criteria into the guidelines or bylaws of active student programs.
- Develop a sustainability budget to support the implementation of the new criteria.
- Provide education and support through workshops, resources, and training sessions to help student organizations effectively integrate sustainability criteria into their operations.
- Establish awards or incentives to recognize and promote activities and organizations that excel in implementing sustainable practices.
- Regularly review and update sustainability guidelines in collaboration with parent groups and relevant experts to ensure alignment with evolving best practices and new sustainability challenges.
