Louli Ziels
Louli is the Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) Coordinator and supports student employees in reviewing, selecting, and facilitating student-led projects that advance environmental and social sustainability on campus.
Although new to the Tucson community, Louli brings experience in collaborative, community-facing project facilitation and university program support. She graduated from the University of Portland with a degree in Environmental Ethics & Policy and a minor in Spanish where she was involved in initiatives focused on increasing access to outdoor education.
Following graduation, Louli spent three years working in partnership with Oregon Sea Grant, Oregon State University, and NOAA through the Oregon Coastal and Ocean Information Network (OCOIN). In this role, she collaborated with university researchers to map research locations, helping make their work more accessible to the broader public.
In addition to her educational and professional experience, Louli has worked on a seed-saving urban farm and holds a deep appreciation for place-based, collaborative, on-the-ground projects. She is continually inspired by the thoughtful proposals that come through CSF and the emerging collaborations that have the potential to have lasting impacts on campus while serving as models elsewhere.
In her free time, Louli fixes and rides bikes.
