The goal of this project was to identify high-traffic campus locations that would benefit from additional shade infrastructure. The interns first gathered input from campus users through a survey to identify priority locations. They then conducted site assessments using thermal imaging cameras and infrared thermometers to collect temperature data. Using these findings alongside observations of the surrounding environment, the interns evaluated the most suitable locations for shade infrastructure and developed recommendations for appropriate shade solutions. Their data and recommendations can support future implementation efforts and grant applications.
