Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges

The University of Arizona earned recognition as one of the nation’s most environmentally conscious institutions in The Princeton Review’s 2024 Guide to Green Colleges, ranking No. 50 for the first time in the Top 50 Green Colleges list. This ranking highlights institutions that demonstrate exceptional commitments to sustainability through academics, career preparation, and campus initiatives. Among Research I institutions, the University of Arizona placed No. 17, underscoring our leadership in sustainability among major research universities. This achievement reflects the university’s commitment to sustainability across campus.

While the University of Arizona did not secure a Top 50 ranking in 2025, efforts are already underway to reclaim a spot in 2026 and beyond. The university’s Sustainability & Climate Action Plan, set for completion in 2025, will establish a clear roadmap to climate neutrality by 2040, alongside new initiatives in water conservation, waste reduction, and sustainability education. The university remains focused on embedding sustainability into all aspects of campus life, ensuring continued recognition as a national leader in environmental responsibility.
