Communicats Committee Co-Chairs

The Community Outreach Committee aims to bridge the gap in environmental education. All too often environmental education is overlooked in the educational system. We believe that by educating individuals we can help them enact positive changes to become more sustainable. We bridge the gap by providing free environmental education to students K-12 and beyond. The current Community Outreach chairs are:

  • Ethan Lin
  • Abby Pearse

Healthy Living Committee Co-Chairs

The Healthy Living Committee seeks to unite awareness of climate change and energy efficiency with the sustainable changes we can all make in our own lives. Combining these ideas emphasizes the broad knowledge of sustainability as an important step in encouraging yourself and others to make small daily adjustments that can have a strong impact on our campus community. The current Healthy Living chairs are:

  • Sam Gibbon
  • Madalyn van Asselt

Equity Committee Co-Chairs

The Equity Committee is dedicated to programming for environmental justice, intersectionality, and equity. They also help organize moderated conversations and provide to students of marginalized identities. Members of this committee are passionate about increasing equity and inclusion in the SFS space. The current Equity chair is:

  • Gracyn Kautzman

Hydrocats Committee Co-Chairs

When one of life’s basic ingredients only makes an appearance a few times each year here in the desert, it’s wise to capture what you can and use it as responsibly as possible. The HydroCats Committee is part of a paradigm shift in Tucson’s approach to storm-water management, green infrastructure, and water-saving lifestyles. The current Hydrocats chairs are:

  • Brooke Magnuson
  • Sawyer Sullivan

Waste Reduction Committee Co-Chairs

Waste is a huge environmental problem and Waste Reduction seeks to divert waste build-up on campus and educate U of A Wildcats and Tucson community members on why environmentally friendly waste management is important and how they can manage their own waste to help make the world a better place. The current Waste Reduction chairs are:

  • Lila Carruthers
  • Haven Lisek
